If you want to do what Jesus tells you, then sell all you have, give it to the poor, and then follow him(Mark 10). Give like judgment depended on it (Matt 25). Give freely (luke 6:30). What ever you do, don't let someone argue you out of following Jesus with wisdom wiser than His....
